Former Pirate Tom Cowan-Dickie recalled by Plymouth Albion for derby clash

albilogo.jpgTOM COWAN-DICKIE will face his former club Cornish Pirates on Sunday after earning a recall to Plymouth Albion’s starting line-up for the big derby match at Mennaye Field.

Cowan-Dickie replaces Ted Stagg at hooker in one of two personnel changes Albion make to their team that lost last weekend to Yorkshire Carnegie.

The other change is in the backs where Mark Kohler returns to the starting line-up in place of Lawrence Rayner. Kohler’s inclusion means Jack Arnott reverts from wing to full-back.

Cowan-Dickie missed Albion’s match against the Pirates at Christmas as he was suspended.

He is one of two former Pirates players in Albion’s starting line-up, the other is lock Neale Patrick, who moved to Brickfields from Mennaye Field in the summer.

Albion had hoped second-row Tom Hicks would be fit for Sunday’s match. He missed last weekend’s game due to a shoulder injury, joining fellow forwards Iain Grieve, Rob Langley, Sam Simmonds and Herbie Stupple in the treatment room. But Hicks has not been named in the squad for the West Country derby.

Pirates include former Plymouth players Kieran Hallett, Tom Kessell and Alan Paver in their starting line-up.
