
Maczugowski clocked an impressive 52.56 seconds, which knocked 0.66 of a second off his previous best.
The time ranks him third in the UK under-20 rankings and 11th in Europe.
The English Schools’ medallist finished second in the race behind UK number one Oliver Parker, who also set a new PB, clocking 51.02 seconds.
Those two were a long way ahead of the rest of the field, with third-placed Ollie Dieppe finishing in 56.96 seconds.
Meanwhile, the Muskies Madness 10k returns on Saturday after a year’s break.
The race, which starts at finishes at the Kings Tamerton Community Centre, will start at 3.30pm.
