GALLERY: Anderson and Orchard claim titles in the Tamar 10k

HUNDREDS of runners crossed between Devon and Cornwall on Sunday morning as part of the Tamar 10k.

The race, which starts and finishes at Marine Academy Plymouth, sees competitors cross the Tamar Bridge four times.

Some 565 people completed the event, with Bristol & West’s Aled Anderson taking the title in a gun-time of 35.23 minutes (chip time 35.19).

Second place went to Christopher Casey in 36.12 (36.08), with Tavistock Run Project’s Alex Peyton-Jones taking third in 36.28 (36.24), Ben Austin fourth in 36.30 (36.26) and Newquay Road Runners’ Clive Ramsden fifth in 37.15 (37.11) minutes.

Cornwall AC’s Ruby Orchard claimed the women’s title with a 39.05-minute gun-time run (39.01 chip time). Storm Plymouth’s Charlene Matthews came second in 42.19 minutes (42.15), with South West Road Runners’ Rachel Sanders third in 43.13 minutes (43.08), Laura Campbell was fourth in 44.36 minutes (44.27) and Storm’s Lisa Todd was fifth in 44.54 (44.46) minutes.
