
Leander totally dominated the men’s distance event, winning all the age groups from the 12 year-old section upwards.
Freddie Ashley-Sparks, 17, claimed the overall championship title with a 17:11.04 swim.
Ethan Phillipson was second overall and first in the 15-year-old category in 18:00.46, with club colleague Finn Brokehoven producing an impressive swim to take third and the 13-year-old age group gold with 18:19.85.
Fellow Leander swimmers Berk Emre-Parker, Samuel Stewart and Angelakis Panagiotis also won age group titles.
In the women’s event, there was an eye-catching swim by Mount Kelly’s Emily Forwood, who won the junior and senior titles with a PB time of 18:28.08.
Second place overall and winner of the 14 years’ gold medal was Plymouth Leander’s Niamh Hutchinson, who clocked 18:48.35.
Leander’s Ruby Griffiths was also a gold medal winner in the 13-year-old age group with a time of 19:57.67.
Tavistock’s Thanae Garland-Tsirka and Amy Roberts also produced sub-20 minute swims.
