Ocean City Rugby Inclusive held a special event last weekend to mark the club’s opening at Old Techs’ ground at Weston Mill.
Steve Hooper, the 2025 Invictus Games captain, attended to officially open the club.
A club spokesperson said: “Our aim is to help players gain self-esteem, self-confidence, communication and listening skills. As well as developing coordination whilst exercising and team building.
“It’s a chance to gain skills both in touch rugby and socially whilst having fun and laughter in a safe place.
Each player that attends the weekly sessions on a Sunday morning at Weston Mill must have a parent or carer with them, but the club will have volunteer coaches working with the players.
Ocean City Rugby have been grateful for the help Old Techs have given them in allocating them space and making them feel welcome at Weston Mill.
Information on the club can be found on their Facebook page or by emailing oceancityrugbyinclusive@yahoo.com
