There were also second place finishes in west Cornwall for City of Plymouth’s Elsie Goodspeed and Finley Eales, Tavistock’s Charlotte Walker and Erme Valley Harriers’ Luke Hayes.
In the same race at the weekend, his Tavistock club team-mate Eldon Young came third and City of Plymouth’s Freddie Blight fourth. Tavistock AC finished runners-up in the series team event.
Walkerdine claimed victory in the under-11 girls’ race, which again featured a strong Armada presence. City of Plymouth’s Evie Bolt came fourth, Margot Goodspeed fifth, Genevieve Stone seventh and Theia Jones ninth, with Tavistock’s Harriet Silvester 10th.
Plymouth’s Elsie Goodspeed came second in Saturday’s under-15 race and also in the series, with Tavistock’s Grace Gokhole seventh at Redruth. Tavistock won silver in the series team event.
City of Plymouth’s Finley Eales came runner-up on Saturday in the under-13 boys’ race, with team-mate Sebastian Travers fourth. Eales took bronze in the series.
There was not anything to choose between them until the final lap when Peters just pulled away to take victory, with Walker second and Arnold third. Arnold, who has been consistent all season, did claim the runner-up prize in the series.
Plymouth Harriers’ Michelle Cooper won the series trophy for the F35 age group, with club colleague Nicola Noble second.
Erme Valley’s Jennifer Hayes and Plymstock’s Jane Ling were second and third behind Lake in the F45 category, while Tavistock’s Caroline Steven won the F55 crown, with Erme Valley’s Lynne Whitefield third.
In the senior men’s race on Saturday, Tavistock’s Ben Neale had a strong run to finish fifth, while Plymouth Harriers’ Johnny Gilby (M45) and Tavistock Run Project’s Jim Cole (M40) won their age groups on the day. Gilby was second overall in the series, with Cole claiming the M40 title ahead of Tavistock AC’s Tom Brogden.
City of Plymouth’s Simon Anderson was first M60 at the weekend and also won the series title, with Tavistock’s David Harris third overall.
Erme Valley’s Allister Bristow was third in the series M50 series event, while City of Plymouth’s Simon Arnold came in the same position in the M55 category.
In the under-11 boys’ race on Saturday, East Cornwall Harriers’ Rafe Jackson came third. City of Plymouth’s Jack Penney did not run at the weekend, but he did finish second in the series.
In the under-13 girls’ event at Redruth, Erme Valley’s Harriet Rogers came sixth, with City of Plymouth coming third in the series team event.
