Marjon, who included Plymouth Albion’s Pete Ingoldsby, Ivybridge’s Adam Northcott and Devonport Services’ Keane Whittaker in their side, made sure of the win with two converted tries in the final 15 minutes.
The students did dominate possession and territory first half but they struggled to break a determined Saracens side down.
The visitors did make the perfect start with a unconverted try by Jordan Smith out wide after just 30 seconds, but they could not add to that in the first half of a physical encounter.
Marjon, with Northcott becoming more influential, finally increased their lead to 8-0 in the final quarter when scrum-half Ben Hunter kicked a penalty.
And two minutes later powerful centre Whittaker scored after the young visitors used a cross-field kick well.
Hunter converted that try and then he added his own four minutes from time when he scooped up a loose ball from a line-out and showed good strength to reach out and get the ball down over the line.
