GALLERY: Pictures from the opening Soggy Bottom race at Newnham Park

HUNDREDS of cyclists braved horrendous conditions to take part in the opening Soggy Bottom mountain bike series at Newnham Park on Sunday.

Heavy rain made racing extremely tough, but there were still good numbers of all ages and abilities at the event.

Sunday’s race was the first of three between now and the end March at the Plympton venue.
