Henry Curtis was just denied a big legal PB in the under-17 men’s 100m hurdles due to the wind.
Curtis, who is already ranked ninth in the UK at that event with a time of 13.94, clocked 13.56 at Yeovil, but the wind was just over the legal limit. However, he did get a legal PB in the 100m flat with a 11.63 second run.
However, Adam Dingley did get a legal hurdles run it. He clocked 13.11 seconds to take second in the under-15 boys’ 80m hurdles and move up to 22nd in the UK. Nicolas Maczugowski is ranked 15th in that event but did not run the hurdles in Somerset. Instead he concentrated on the flat and ran a new 100m PB of 12.70 seconds.
Poppy Northcott also ran in the under-15 800m. Despite the breezy conditions, she clocked 2:23.14. She is also a first year under-15.
Kate Gray made her debut over 300m hurdles and was first under-15 with a time of 51.87 seconds.
Under-17 athlete Connell McCarthy ran under 12 seconds for the 100m for the first time, clocking 11.88 seconds, but, unfortunately for him, it was wind-assisted. However, he did manage a legal run of 24.09 seconds in the 200m.
Brook Adnitt was first senior in the 200m with a season’s best time of 22.96 seconds.
