TRAVIS BRAMLEY was first home for the second successive month in the Armada Summer 5k Series.
Having won April’s opening run, Bramley repeated the feat in May’s race on Wednesday evening at Saltram Park.
He clocked 17 minutes and 11 seconds, which was slightly slower than he ran four weeks ago, but was still good enough to hold off the challenge of Plymouth Harriers’ Steve Fletcher.
Fletcher finished in 17.24 minutes, with youngster Sam Yearling, who was second in April, taking third this time in 18.02.
Fourth was Derrick Warren (18.16), fifth Ian Luckraft (18.24) and sixth was Plymstock veteran Graham Bale (18.28).
Erme Valley Harriers’ Emma Lake was first women home for the second month running in 20.14 minutes.
Second was Mudcrew’s Emily Warren in 21.50, with Storm’s Clare Faithful taking third in 22.26.
Despite wet conditions, 175 runners finished the course around the grounds of Saltram House.

Meanwhile, there were a number of eye-catching performances from the region’s athletes at the opening South West League meeting of the season at Exeter.
City of Plymouth’s Mali Heard moved up to 11th in the UK under-13 200m rankings with a personal best time of 27.70 seconds.
She also set a new PB in the 100m of 13.70 seconds, which puts her 22nd in the UK. Her club colleague Nubia Evans-Shields was not far behind with a PB time of 13.78.
Evans-Shields also set a PB in the shot with 7.82m, which puts her in the UK top 30, while Heard came second in the long jump with 4.28m.
Fellow City of Plymouth athlete Poppy Northcott jumped a PB of 3.99m in the same long jump competition and clocked 29.97 seconds in the 200m, but her highlight came in the under-13 girls’ 1,500m. Northcott, who has just moved up from the under-11s, clocked 5:14.39 over the metric mile, which ranks her 26th in the country.
In the under-15 girls’ 1,500m Tavistock’s Amelia Riggott clocked 5:09.01 in her first run over that distance in the older age group. Club colleague Natasha Farrington ran 4:59.28 in the under-17 category. Plymouth’s Oliver Woodmason ran a PB of 4:44.39 in the under-15 boys’ 1,500m.
Tavistock athlete Ben Pitts clocked a speedy 24.48 seconds in the under-15 boys’ 200m. City of Plymouth’s Henry Curtis ran a PB of 25.62 seconds in the same age group. He also set a PB in the 300m of 40.79 and won the 80m hurdles in 12.38 seconds.
In the under-15 girls’ 75m hurdles, Plymouth’s Lili Fern ran a PB of 12.89 seconds. There was also a PB for Erme Valley’s Bronwyn Harris in the under-15 girls’ high jump with a leap of 1.50m.
