RUGBY players from Old Techs and Tamar Saracens enjoyed a social New Year’s Day run out at Weston Mill.
Techs have been playing on January 1 for years. Their regular opponents used to always be St Boniface Old Boys, but when ‘Bonnies’ pulled out last year Tamar Saracens stepped to continue the tradition.
Due to a few late drop-outs and some players having enjoyed the holiday festivities a bit too much, the teams played a 10-a-side mix-and-match fixture in between sessions in the bar.
A few players had clearly enjoyed New Year’s Eve a bit too much, but the Old Techs side still managed six tries to win 39-5. The fixture did provide some good entertainment for the spectators.
