Ivybridge to face Okehampton in Devon Senior Cup, while Argaum to play Oaks in Intermediate Shield

IVYBRIDGE will have to overcome a tricky trip to lower league Okehampton if they are to have any hope of winning the Devon Senior Cup for the first time.

The Bridgers have been semi-finals for the past two years, but on each occasion have been beaten by the eventual winners.

They did avoid their South West Premier rivals Exmouth, Brixham and Newton Abbot in the first round, which was drawn at the Devon RFU AGM on Friday, but they will be wary of Okehampton.

Okes, who have recently appointed Martin Browne as their new player-coach, reached the final last season and pushed Brixham all the way.

The other Devon Senior Cup ties will see Brixham host Newton Abbot, Exmouth travel to Teignmouth and Exeter University entertain Bideford. The ties will be played on Saturday, February 10, 2018.

The draws were also made for the other Devon cup competitions.

Devonport Services were handed a home tie against Paignton in the restored Intermediate Cup, while Tavistock got a bye in the new Intermediate Shield.

The big game in the Intermediate Shield will come at Bickleigh Down where Plymouth Argaum were drawn against city rivals Plymstock Albion Oaks.

In the Devon Junior Cup, newly-promoted Devon One side Old Techs will renew acquaintances with St Columba/Torpoint at Defiance Field, while Plym Vic will host OPMs again.

Tamar Saracens will face a trip to Buckfastleigh, while DHSOB will host Totnes.
