Rugby clubs celebrate festive season with special fixtures

LEAGUE rugby might be taking a two-week break for the festive season but there is no shortage of action this Christmas.

A number of clubs have arranged special fixtures.

On Boxing Day, Cornwall/Devon League side Plymouth Argaum will host unbeaten Devon Two leaders OPMs at Bickleigh Down (11am).

Also at the same time on the same day, Saltash will play St Boniface Old Boys in their traditional Christmas fixture, which is celebrating its 40th anniversary this season.

Ivybridge will be playing an over-25s v under-25s at Cross-in-Hand on Boxing Day (1pm).

Devonport ServicesOn Tuesday, December 27, Devonport Services will be hosting their annual Exiles match featuring past and current players (2pm).

This year the game will be in honour of long-serving Services official Graham Emond, who died recently.

Services will be hosting Emond’s family and friends from noon. Rugby followers attending the match are urged to wear their club’s rugby jersey, representative attire or a Christmas jumper.
