Bryson was consistent throughout the competition, particularly excelling in the fencing where she claimed 16 victories, to finish 61 points ahead of Yorkshire’s Isabel Starkey, who was second, and Wycliffe’s Zoe Davison in third.
Ireland international Eimear O’Neill, who previously went to Plymouth College alongside Bryson, was the top scorer on the day but as a non-British athlete was unable to claim the title.
There was frustration for Plymouth College’s GB international Myles Pillage in the under-19 men’s competition.
He topped the swimming, fencing and combined run/shoot events but had a problem with the ride and was one of three athletes eliminated from that event. Despite not scoring any points for the ride, Pillage still finished seventh overall.
His Plymouth College team-mate Edward Clark finished fourth.
There was a bronze medal for Mount Kelly College’s Martha Miles in the under-13 section.
